This release continues to do album shuffle on the iphone (and touch). New in this release are an auto-shuffle option, an option to disable “shake to shuffle”, a nicer icon, some bug fixes, and separate screens for the settings and filters.

Michael,
I am having a strange problem. I have quite a few playlists and when I select any of the ones about 25 down or farther and scroll down the list of playlists I will get kicked out of Album Shuffle when I reach the playlist in question. It’s odd because it doesn’t happen on every playlist. Only #25 and up.
@davecody – Thanks for the comment. I think you’re probably seeing the same bug that was reported here: http://blakeley.com/wordpress/archives/440#comments
Since then I’ve identified the problem and uploaded a fix (v1.4). You’ll have it just as soon as Apple approves it.
Michael,
Is there a way to filter the shuffle by artist? For example, I want to shuffle through my Waterboys albums.
Thanks,
Lori
Thanks Lori A: that’s a good idea and I have added it to my list. For now, you could create a playlist of all the Waterboys albums, and set the filter to that playlist.
This is a great app! I was really disappointed to find out my new iTouch wouldn’t shuffle albums. One thing that always bothered me with the iPod album shuffle was it couldn’t differentiate between albums with the same name (e.g., Greatest Hits, Live, etc.). Does your app solve that problem? If not, I think that would be a nice enhancement.
I’m glad you like it. To answer your question, AlbumMixer is designed to treat tracks as part of the same album when they have the same Album Title *and* Album Artist. Note that you may run into problems if your tracks do not have an Album Artist specified: I have had some reports of a bug in that area. I’m looking into that at the moment.
