Michael Blakeley holds a degree in engineering from Harvey Mudd College. He has been actively involved in Internet-related computing since 1988. His experience includes work for Ziff-Davis Publishing, Silicon Graphics, Netscape, and Oracle. He has also spent several years as an independent consultant, working with a variety of companies on performance and scalability issues. Michael is currently employed by Mark Logic.

Besides writing articles for PC Week, PC Magazine, MacWeek, and other publications, Michael has delivered talks on Internet performance issues at Internet World, Seybold, and other conferences. Michael wrote and released the WebStone benchmark program for Silicon Graphics, and participated in the SPEC benchmark working groups for SPECweb96, SPECweb98, and SPECjava. He also participated in the TPC-Web working group.
